What time of year ? Like any lake, patterns are seasonal.
I've had cottages/homes on Bobs and Crow for over 40 years. Obviously, I'm not going to reveal specific spots but I can point you in the right direction.
Let me guess...you're renting the place on Pine Cone Lane ?

Re: North bay shore fishing
Back in the early 70's, my uncle lived in North Bay at the south end of town. My family would often drive up from Toronto on the weekend to visit. My cousin and I would ride our bikes to Champlain Park and fish the mouth of the La Vase River. We would catch pike, bass, perch and catfish. In spring, ...

Yeah...that first fish definitely looks anorexic.
Good to see you're still banging away at them !
Same pattern and presentation ?

Re: Big Rideau lake trout
Was planning to target Walleyes this weekend but the cold front had them in a really negative mood...caught a few cigars below the slot, and even they were sniffing the bait rather than eating it. Water temp had dropped to 64F from 68f a few days ago. Mayfly hatch didn't help either. Fooled around w...

Re: Big Rideau lake trout
Love getting them on a jig with light tackle. Downriggers, leadcore, dipseys, flashers, cowbells, etc and all the hardware when trolling takes the fight out of them.
Sounds like it was video game fishing, watching them on the screen...very nice !

Re: Looking for rain gear suggestions.
I have the Simms ProDry jacket and bibs for 3 years now. After a lot of heavy use they still look new...they're bullet-proof. Will keep me absolutely bone-dry whipping down the lake at 50mph in the middle of a torrential down pour. They're surprisingly light-weight, and pack down quite small. Lots o...

I believe Tracker has a Lifetime Warranty on the hull, ribs, welds, etc. I'd give them a call before initiating an insurance claim. You very well know that the insurance company will recoup their payout with higher premiums.

Yes...ouch. Luckily something more serious didn't happen out on the big water.
Curious...what brand/model is it ?

Central Frontenac Opener
A bit of everything this weekend. Water temps were between 65 and 69f. Although the surface water was relatively warm, I suspect it was still quite cold a few feet down. Walleye were still in a post-spawn negative mood...slow presentations like a jig and minnow in 12 to 15 ft worked, but they didn't...

Re: Missing pflueger reel handle
That's a $100 reel...if you can get a new handle shipped to you for $30, I'd say that's a pretty good deal.
With all the supply chain issues these days, I'm not sure you're going to do much better than that.

Prince Edward Bay Pike and Bass
Fished down in FMZ 20 this past weekend.... an overlap in the fishing seasons allowed for some early spring multi-species action. Pike and Walleye opened on Saturday, and Sunday was the last day of the new pre-spawn catch & release Bass season. Here's a few of the Pike. Nothing huge... biggest w...

Thats disgusting...considering the record revenues the Province is hauling in with sky high gas taxes and land transfer fees. I'd gladly give back my "bribe" of a licence plate refund to keep the parks open. Too bad we don't have an effective MPP who can do anything about it. Even the Cons...

With the cool spring this year's season opener was one of the best in awhile. Lots of fish on the move, many have yet to spawn. Lake O tribs are in great shape...colour and visibility just about perfect today. Unless we get some real warm temps and a lot of rain, fish should be in the rivers for a f...

Re: Water temps - Rideau River
Yeah...still pretty chilly. Next weekend should have the panfish a little more active. It seems like we're a week to 10 days behind this spring compared to previous averages.
