Oh can't wait! My new ride...
Yay for me! I bought a pontoon boat! Now... I just need some help figuring out where I can use it! *laughs* I promised myself more fly-fishing this year, especially now that I have the pontoon, so if anyone is making any early ice-out trips and doesn't mind a rookie coming along, please IM me! I pic...

Hey I agree with above... There's lots to be caught all over at Black's Rapids... Personally I've caught quite a few nice walleye fishing there. In fact, my last trip out, my buddy caught a 4lb 3oz walleye from the other side of the dam (above). I saw a gorgeous pike come from underneath the little ...

One thing with spinnerbaits is that I've been told that you should only use mono with them... to allow for some stretch. Apparently braid is a bit too stiff and to get the hooks to set, it's better if there is stretch to the line... Not fun if you're huntin for toothies.. but maybe put a couple feet...

A wondeful day on he Weed-eau !
Well I admit it, I played hookey yesterday. I haven't spent nearly as much time in my little tinny as I was hoping to this year, so when the weather looked good, I just had to spend a day out in my boat!! And I can't stand being out there on the weekend with all that traffic *LOL* Anyway, I decided ...

Yep, Smallies all the way. God, how many times have I felt that I finally broke the 5+ club when it just turned out to be another 2 lb smallie!!! Although I too have a soft spot for largies, There is nothing like tangling with a bunch of voracious smallies!! Even the little guys can be a blast to ca...

Jim, you said it perfectly! How priveliged!! And I don't mean that in a bad way. Just the opportunity to fish those areas are incredible, and the opportunity to fish with some of those names is incredible (however, I put you in along with any of those guys as being a big name in the industry!), but ...

I don't know about crappie, but the bass fishing at La Peche is excellent. Work the shorelines or weed edges with plastics or spinner baits or whatever you like. If you're going to be at the beach area, I'd reccommend just going straight across to the other side and working the shoreline, or going l...

I'm not sure how far back a search of the site goes, but I remember last year someone posted a really great chart that showed the safety numbers for ice thickness... Maybe someone out there still has it? I remember it showed safe thicknesses for people, ATV's etc, then cars and trucks etc. Anyone ha...
