This knot is used to attach a mono leader to leadcore. Make a loop in the leadcore, about 4 inches from the tag end. http://www.educatedangler.com/cmgallery/albums/userpics/10010/000_1232-01.jpg Next step is to slide back the outer coating on your leadcore, approx 3 inches. Cut the lead off, then slide...

I routinely use 2 hooks on the leader, while float fishing. A common technique is a small glo bug(egg imitation made of yarn),with a streamer 6 inches behind. At the end of the drift, stop the float from drifting further,it'll swing in the current. It represents a minnow chasing a egg, deadly at times....

2 winter's back, there was a 6 lb bow caught off Bear Point,in Kempenfelt Bay on Simcoe. Not many around, but some. The Ontario record still sits at 29 lb & change, taken from the Notty, back in the 70's. Here's the 31 lb ,3 ounce lake.Ontario record(NY side),taken last summer. http://www.outdoorsni...

LT's are the slowest growing of all the salmonoids,1/2 lb a yr would be more accurate.

That 21 lb LT would be in the 40 yr old range.

Imagine how old those Great Slave/Great Bear 60 + lbers are???

As you mentioned,if your fishing alone,it can be rather difficult getting the ball up,while fighting the fish.

Electrics are nice,flick a switch,ball stops at the auto-stop bead,no problem.

IMO,fishing solo,tough to beat electrics.
