Fish behaviour in flood
I was on the Rideau today at Reeve Craig, and the water level is up a good 14", and really murky. Either rain or the dams are releasing. This seems pretty sudden, I was just here a week ago, and the water level was finally dropped to almost normal. What do fish do in a sudden increase in water ...

Recommendation on winterize service at my house?
My boat is parked in my garage, and this winter I think it will just stay there. Instead of paying so much to have it wrapped and stored.
Any recommendations on winterize service which comes to my door?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Salmon Run in Southern Ontario Question?
Salmon are ready to run at Wilmont Creek, which is allegedly the best producing creek around there. Last weekend, the salmon jumping repeatedly about 150m out, but the creek is too low for them. And there's some distasteful people there fishing for the roe and leaving the rest of the carcass on the ...

scarkner, how did you modify your trailer? I've got a 16' tinnie, and I'd love to lauch at shirley's without risking it all.

Re: Becoming addicted to gar!!!
Has anybody ever seen this: larger gar with 3-4 smaller ones around it, and they are swimming like a whale and her young - the small ones stayed in contact with the larger while swimming around. Very cool. I also had gar follows, never had that before. Gar would come up to the lure (any lure), touch...

Re: Crystal Beach Boat Launch
You might be able to get out from Shirley's Bay with 12-14' boat, if you had a roller trailer, don't mind some scratches on the boat, and put the truck right in over exhaust.

Re: Oh Joy Oh Joy
Seems to have hit a nerve, this topic....Can't disagree with many perspectives here, but let me offer mine. Whatever happened to the concept of avoiding wake on another boat? Last weekend I was hit with every single type of boat's wake, except those pesky and useless little jetskis....LOL. Makes me ...

Was looking for bass and landed this monster
Been lurking for awhile, thought it's time to post. Been a kayak fisher for a year, moved on to a deep-v 16' this year. Out on the Rideau today again, trying out my brand new St. Croix bass rod and Abu Garcia reel. Spent the first hour making birds nests with this new slick braid, until I got the te...
