Re: 2019 Ice season, Shirley's bay

Lots of slush out there. Was on the bay yesterday with my sled making a path to my friends shack. And I would not take a quad or a truck out. Some deep drifts with knee deep slush under it. If someone does try to drive out make sure you have a very long rope to be pulled out.

Re: Battery hunt camp question

I'd go with a deep cycle marine battery and a power inverter. You can charge up the battery off a vehicle if it runs low.

Park La Verendrye......Dozois

Heading to Park La Verendrye June 12 for the first time, with some buddies. Planning on fishing Reservoir Dozois for Pickerel and Pike, was wondering if anyone has any tips on camping spots ( tent trailers ) and spots to hit for fish. Or even different lakes within the park. Cheers... Grizz (heading...

Re: Cordless Drill Auger combos

I can't believe I'm doing this but canam04 is right, his Milwaukee 18 volt with lithium battery is a beast. You can buy a clam plate for this set up, your wrist will thank you. I lucked out this years and picked up a eskimo barracuda 3hp auger for 150. Not even a full tank a gas through it. Since I ...

Re: Ling, burbot or what ever you want call it, you have to

They are really easy fillet. Some guys wipe them down with paper towels before cleaning. I use a pair of latex gloves so I don't get my hands full of slime. No I didn't keep the belly meat, next time I will to try. You get some nice meat from them..

Ling, burbot or what ever you want call it, you have to try

Well I went over to camam04 house last night for a fish fry. On the menu was walleye and perch. That is until I add some ling that we had caught over the winter to the menu. When we first pulled one from the river we both said " people really eat theses things". We kept a few to try. Well ...
