Sadly I was skunked. I was fishing the middle of the lake in 65' of water and a hut 30' away from me was fishing 100' of water and they landed a 12lb laker and a 26" pickerel. The lake holds all kinds of big fish. The hard part is changing up your gear to find what will make them bit. I will re...

Re: Muskrat info
I was on Muskrat lake last Sat.
There was a few trucks out on the ice and I joined.
We had 18" of solid black ice.
By the end of the day the ice was covered with trucks and trailers.
I cant make it to the tournament but good luck.

Re: muskrat smelt?
I'll be fishing Muskrat Lake this coming Sat.
It will be my first time on the Lake.
What can I hope to catch and where should I set up.
I was going to drive on at the public launch ramp.
Any info would be great.

Rideau Ferry Yacht Club
Hi I was away this weekend in North Bay Ice fishing so I did not get a chance to check out the Rideau.
Anyone know how thick the Ice is after this weekend and if people are driving on or not yet.

Re: lighting a pop-up/flipover ice shack??
For Xmas I recived a Colman lantern with LED bulbs, it takes 8 D sized battery's that cost under 10 bucks at CT. It lit my 8'X8' pop up great, I hung it from the top corner with a rope, I'm supposed to get 24 hour on high with battery's. It was the only light we had and it worked great.
