For what it's worth, Ottawa cannot really be considered a small town. It's probably the 4th largest market in Canada behind Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. If you want to focus on the core fishing products that Cabella's sells, one could make an argument that Ottawa would be the third biggest mark...

I'm not so sure I believe this. Big Box stores need to have a huge demographic before opening. Montreal and Toronto have a much larger population base. I looked into opening a franchise a long time ago. I was told that the area I wanted to put it in was "too small" I needed a demographic ...
