For example I live on concession 6 but my property is on the fifth concession. So the physical landmark for the boundary would be concession road 5. the fourth concession -...

Re: Ice Fishing Help - For Small Fish

When going for the smaller fish you also want to *avoid* areas that are going to have lots of bigger fish in them. ie. don't try to lure perch into an area where you know that bass / pike / lakers spawn. Also don't try areas with strong current or deep breaks - narrows often increase current flow so...

Re: Shootout: don't miss out!!!

well at least I know it's some kind of bass fishing thing....
... I still have no clue wtf the OP was getting at.

I just hope that he's not promoting a so-called tourney that simpley makes a big wake on small lakes.

Re: Hand auger recommendations?

For hand drills - Nils Master is the absolute best. http://www.nilsmaster.com/web2008_007.htm the second best would be a FinBore III by Normark (rapala) http://ca.wholesalesports.com/storefront/ice-fishing/augers-tools/fin-bore-ice-auger/prod230027.html --------- You'll note they both have offset ha...

Re: Auger on drill

Totally agree Smitty - It's not the best method for sure, but it beats cutting the holes by hand which is my only other option. Since I owned the drill it was a 'no-brainer' to buy the $10 adapter from Cdn Tire. I carry two batteries and it gets me by for the day. I'm on foot anyway pulling a mini-s...

Re: Auger on drill

Get a Li-Ion battery drill, the cold doesn't affect them as much. Also make sure you have some sort of rotating tether strap, a float or other retainer at the top of the shaft if you are using the regular drill chuck. If it comes loose you'll have to have reflexes like a ninja to catch it. What I di...
