Great derby put on by the Cobden Civitan on Saturday Feb 8th. Over 700 participants on Muskrat Lake with plenty of draws , and cash prizes including a 12' Princecraft with a 8 hp. Merc. Thanks to all organizers and volunteers. People attended from as far away as NorthBay all the way to Vernon!

You don't need insurance , but you need every participant to sign a waiver stating that they will not hold the organizers liable for any and all mishaps , accidents, injuries etc.

Was out today at Hooples Creek . Fished from 9am to 3pm only a few small perch. I put the camera down and they would come and investigate but not hit anything. I don't think the bite is on yet, but it's still nice to get out. 14-16inches of good ice.

Beechnut is stocked with speckled trout. You need a snow machine or 4 wheeler to access in winter. For pickerel your best bet is lake clear or lake dore. Not many left in golden lake.
