High School Fishing Tournament & Salmon Trip

For the 5th year in a row I took a small group of 6 students I teach from Athens District High School to the Edu-Cast High School Fishing Tournament near London. This is a shore fishing tournament where around 500 students are completing to place in the top 10, so they qualify to fish in the Edu-Cas...

Re: Share a seat post.

Usually post open seats a few times in the fall for the Bay of Quinte, but often forget to post for quick trips out l...

Re: Jerkbait Storge? What do you use?

That Asylum case is pretty sweet.

I have 3 of the Shimano boxes (2 blue and 1 red) that I use a bit for stickbaits. For large numbers of crankbaits and spoons, I use the Special Mate tackle boxes, great for Quinte, each box holds 120 baits.

Re: Carp Spring outdoor show

I went for a few hours on Saturday, definitely lots of people there. Talked to a few lodge owners, talked to a few fellow fisherman I had not seen in awhile, visited a couple charter buddies working JB's both. Picked up some trolling tackle that is hard to find in the Ottawa area that I was after. $...

Re: bay of quinte ice rentals

I went out with Jeff Chisholm and the Quinte Ice Fishing Team a couple years ago. Great time and learnt a lot of tips for ice fishing quinte. Hopefully be going out again this year.

Re: bay of quinte ice rentals

Many of the ice fishing operations of Quinte are guides using portable huts so they can move to stay on the ice, instead of "permanent" wood shacks. Many can supply you with all the required gear (rods, lures, bait, portable hut, flasher....). Several good operations in the link posted abo...

Re: Ice Fishing the Rideau near Kilmarnock???

Thanks for the info Steve

I've fished Mississippi Lake lots of times, one of my favourite lakes. I will definitely be hitting the Mississippi this winter, just looking for a couple new spots close to my new house that I can head out on thie ice if I only have a couple hours to fish.

I plan to poke around this winter to see if there is any decent ice fishing in that section of the Rideau. Just wondering if anyone has an experience ice fishing the Ri...
