I'm sure WEEDER and W.I.G. are right I've caught some pretty big muskie's in that stretch of the rideau, sure there are some good sized pike in there, and I don't think it was a carp. What kind of rod was it, and what action was it a heavy, medium , light? I drive by there almost every day and I'm p...

chicken livers work well also! Let them sit out side for a couple of days prior to use, they get hard and stay on the hook better! Word of caution If you do leave them out for a couple of days, they will really start to smell bad, ( Good for cats, bad for nose ).

just reguarding reply's about my coments on the conservation license: I absolutley agree that the MNR is doing a great things with the conservation program, my coments were reguarding the muskie and the muskie only! I to only fish just for fun (bead head) and never take fish for consumption unless i...

not to get off your great post wolfe, I to thought that there was both male and female but was not and am still not sure if the female could reproduce! I'm also religious about the release of any muskie that I am lucky enough to come across! I also think that the MNR still has a litlle work to do re...

I think anyone who is serious about fishing keeps a log or should. Make a note of everything you can think of at the time, it will help you to be more productive in the future. If you fish different species, split it up into sections, ( that's what I do ). Some others may preffer it all in the same ...

ahh! fishing the canal. I grew up fishing there. The same rules apply there as anywhere else! You can get yourself into some pretty big carp in there! Have you fished there yet? try patterson's creek, or pretty much anywhere else for that matter! I've caught everything in there, carp,sun-fish, prech...

Sorry fo the double posts but i forgot to address the over-head casting! It sound's to me that you are letting go of the spool to late with your thumb. Pay attention to the release point when you cast side arm and apply it to the over-head cast! " Pick your target" on the water, if your ca...

what type of reel is it? how many bearings are there? Don't tighten it to much! Hold the rod out in front of you and release the spool adjust it so that the weight slowly falls to the ground! If the spool keeps letting out line it means you'll have to tighten it a littlie more. One more thing, try t...
