I had the same issue, i repleaced mine with a brake lever from a bicycle, it's worked great ever since.

I'm a big fan of the Megastike heads, I haven't found one that stands up better, I mainly fish 3/16-1/4oz.

IMO it's worth every cent, especially with bottom huggging smallmouth this time of year. Instead of one big mark on bottom that you get on regular units,with chirp I find each fish in that school is much more clearly marked, from then I can decide the size of those fish and if I want to drop down to...

Find rock/sand transitions using your electronics. Buy some 1/2 to 3/4oz football heads, and a few packs of 3-4" paddle tail swimbaits, cast the bait out let it fall to bottom and proceed to reel back to the boat as slow as you possibly can, making sure you keep bottom contact. If your around f...

I'm no proffesional myself but would go with a spinning real over a bait caster..the setups your tossing are so light you'll be getting Profesional overrun (birds nest) most guys throw spin cast with 8lb test and a bead swivel with flouro leader line.... rod should be fine agreed with the spin set ...
