Re: Bait cast reels
As Ed, and Tacklejunky have said, once you get used to a baitcaster you will wonder why it took so long to get into one, and one leads to more. Your best bet hands down is to visit Paddletails and speak with Ed. He will put you on your budget, but not only that, he will give you a hands on, and info...

Re: Who can put line guides on a section of flyrod for me?
First off, I'm quite shocked that "Sage" did not put guides back on for you. Sage is a higher end rod, for "Fly, Spey, and Float" rods. Id contact them again. I do not make or tie my own rods, but there is a member here, who has made posts of some of his work, and he seems to do ...

Re: Shirleys Bay vehicle broken into
That is just sad. Low lifes indeed. The best we can do as a community is keep our eye's open for an auger F/S. Also, try local pawn shops in the area not limited to the PQ side. I had gear ripped off years ago, and actually stumbled upon it at a local pawn shop 3 weeks later. Not all of it, but did ...

Re: Ice fishing electronics question
Scratch it, I'm buying a new unit, I've been on line all day, and can't find what I need anywhere for The Hook4 for ice fishing. As soon as I get to the cottage in the spring to get the mounting bracket, and transducer cable I'll put it up for sale for a cheap price.

Ice fishing electronics question
Hey all, I last year bought a Lowrance Hook4 unit for my little boat. Works great open water! I was wondering, I'm going to get the transducer for it, my wife bought me the wrong one for x-mas. She bought me the Humminbird "XI 9 20" which won't fit my unit. I'm wondering about the soft bag...

Re: Does this really work? Stanley’s Ice Off Paste
In years past I've used 2 house hold item's and got by just fine. 1 is regular "Chap Stick" for your guides, and or cooking spray will work also. I've only used them on my float rods in the winter, when ice was a big factor in winter months. Both proved just fine for me, and chap stick is ...

Re: Tube for mailing a 7 foot rod
I would take Ed up on his offer. The abs or pvc tubing is a great Idea, for that is how I transport my rods on longer trips. That being said, the weight of the tubing compared to a cardboard tube will increase the amount you pay considerably. I'd suggest Puralator as opposed to UPS. Just from experi...

Re: Trolling motor battery question?
Hey Larry, my charger is a "Nautilus" Charger. It's at the cottage, so un sure of the actual make. I've always wondered if it was my charger! Thanks for the replies all, I'm going to call Kanata on Friday, and see if I'm using the wrong charger also. I've got a short window, for we leave o...

I have alot of experience on the G-Bay tribs, and could only offer some tips. You asked for a guide, and TRUST ME This guy is the one to call! Either from a drift boat, or walking shore line, I've known Joseph for a long time, and he is one of my best friends. He works along with CRAA "Credit R...
