Re: Can I go down to one battery
Ed is right. You’d have a lot of interference if you were to run a trolling motor and a fish finder on the same battery but if you aren’t using the trolling motor anymore, no need for a second battery.

Not sure of his availability but Rob Jackson (Co-owner of the site) is a guide for both of those species.

Re: Trolling motor battery issues
5 years is a good amount of time for batteries, that is usually around the time I end up replacing mine. Have you testes the batteries with a voltmeter when the motor turns off? Do you know the gauge of wiring in the boat and how long it is? Have you found where the fuse/breaker is? My Breaker needs...

Re: noise/interference Terrova/helix 7
I had a similar issue with my Terrova on my older boat. In my case, all that was required was a better connection between the ethernet cord and the adapter. I also taped the connection with electrical tape because it was rubbing on a stainless screw which was also causing issues. If that had not fix...

Re: Head Pond - Zone 18 or 15
From what I recall, we had to move a tournament up a week because the head pond was in zone 15.

Re: Minn Kota Parts & Service
Unfortunately, they are no longer in business or at least not taking care of minnkota products.
The two closest places I have heard of in our area are the prop shop in Kingston and Fishntech in Lachute Qc.

Re: Storing my boat and Transducer?
I don't see an issue with removing it if you are worried about mice eating the cord or someone walking off with the transducer (almost useless unless you know what unit it is for). But if you are worried about temperature affecting its life, I wouldn't bother. I have never taken one off the boat whi...

Re: An update from Paddletales
As stated on FB, I believe it would be a sad day to see Paddle tales close up. All of the best in finding a new location or a new owner.

Love it!
There is no such thing as getting carried away when buying gear. I guess you will be able to figure out exactly which one you prefer. I would be interested to hear your findings.

Re: marine battery
I don't think there is such thing as a good value AGM battery as they're all pretty expensive. I am wondering why not Canadian Tire? I have a buddy that swears by the Nautilus AGM. They just aren't cheap. Other option I would look at is Interstate only because of my experience with their wet cells. ...
