Re: Pike from shore
Nothing works better for me than a black spinnerbait tipped with a white Berkley 3-4 grub... Buzzer Hey Buzzer, thanks for the great tip. I went out fishing yesterday but not before stopping to pick up some 3" white grubs, threw one on my black spinner and landed a 31" muskie. I don't car...

My advice to myself now is to call up Kingman and have the kids fish with other kids. My son needs the introduction to how much fun it can really be and I think it will take seeing another kid with a sun fish. I tried to have him pick out a small lure he could call his own, but he keeps going for th...

My son is 4 years old. Maybe it's me or maybe it's him but we have both been skunked the 3 times we went out together. I'll have to give him credit because if I ask him to go he'll grab his shoes and run out the door and grab his fishing rod. Biggest problem is that he only fishes for 15 minutes bef...

Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to when I find the right spot and my son gets a good day of catching fish. He has yet to experience this but I know he's going to be excited and I'm going to cherrish the moment. I've tried at a couple of spots with him but he has been skunked every time, probabl...

I never fish with live bait but my brother seems to only fish with live bait (worms minnows etc) and now my son is 4 years old and I took him fishing with worms and a bobber (too young to cast and real very well). Now my curiousity is peeked about using leeches. I've seen them for sale but never hea...

I'm getting ready to pick up my first deep cycle battery and I have read a lot of conflicting information about charging rates. Some of what I have read and some of my friends tell me to use the lowest amp setting to charge and some of what I have read and some of my friends tell me to use the highe...

I fired off my math to Minn_Kota and this is their reply. No, that is not correct. You are not reading the information correctly. What that battery says it has is 120 minutes reserve and 70 amp hours. When it says 120 minutes reserve, it means that if you have a device that draws 25 amps, it will po...

Batteries, trolling motors and bad math?
Ok here's how I see it.
Battery is 130 minutes reserve at 75 amp hours
Trolling motor max amp draw is 38.
So my math tells me at full throttle I can run at 260 minutes or at half throttle I can run for 520 minutes.
Correct or bad thinking?
Oh I am running it on a 16 foot canoe.

Muskie fishing charter?
Me and a coule of buddies have been talking about doing a muskie charter this year.In my local paper was an ad for the Carp fishing show with a link to a charter that offered a half day at something like $250 which is what we are looking for, but our searches had previously only found 3 - 4 day char...
