RJ summed it up pretty well. The only thing I would add is that if you fish in over 20' of water you will want the bottom zoom (in my opinion) especially for walleye. I had an FL-18 and sold it for the FL-20 because I like the flat screen, it is brighter and has better sensitivety. If you are genera...

Thanks for the report, I am heading up this weekend hopefully the ice will still be in good shape after the thaw. I am thinking it will make it easier to walk on the ice as the snow should melt.

The winning fish in the spring derby came from Hay Bay a few years ago so I guess a few of the big girls find there way in there too.

Canadian Tire sells little sleds in the ice fishing section that are perfect for pulling your gear onto the ice with. Saves the back and allows you to take more stuff!

John, don't even think about it get a 24 volt! When you are fishing in the wind and/or current you will need the extra power. Plus fishing tournaments you want to make sure your batteries don't die on you and two batteries is much better than one.

Advanced Taxidermy are considered the best but they are pricey and have a long wait time. I have a walleye mount from them and it is amazing so for me it was worth the $$$ and the wait.

It is possible to use the same transducer but you should call the eagle customer support line and tell them what model you have and they will confirm if it is compatable.
