Big thank you and happy holidays

As some of you know this is the first year I've really gotten into Ottawa fishing. I didn't know any spots and really hadn't fished in years, but the urge to fish was too large. It had to be done. Since the holidays are coming up and I'm going home I wont be on FH for a while so I figured I'd say th...

Now what does one buy the girl who bought you a HUMMINBIRD 788 side imaging colour finder for X-Mas last year that will make up for a small oversight? ANYTHING SHE WANTS. That one's a keeper. TEACH ME! SHOW ME THE WAY! I agree completely!!! Anything she wants. And maybe a calendar for yourself so y...

I always clean my rods. Give the bearings a nice shot of oil before putting them away. You'd be amazed how much difference it'll make when you pull them out again in the spring

If it's light surface rust I just soak em in WD-40 and dry em off after. Cleans em right up.
I do find some cheaper lures have poopy hooks no matter what. I'll usually replace those with higher quality hooks.

MONSTER CATCH, FISH OF YOUR LIFE

Since my fishing for the year has basically come to an end until the water gets hard I figured I'd throw a random question out there. This is spurred on by a report I saw on FH a few weeks ago. One of our anglers caught a world record fish and released it, thusly negating a record and a sweet wall m...

Yeah, I'd imagine it just sort of happens with these types of forums every now and then. I build 1/72 scale models in the offseason to keep me busy and I was posting all my builds and projects on a forum dedicated to the hobby. Bunch of cool people, much like FH, and some great tips and stories (als...

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I'll certainly make my way to Paddeltales and a few other places on Saturday. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Cheers,

Rod and Reel assistance?

I've been looking to replace my entry level Shimano spinning rod and reel combo. I bought it this year when I first got back into fishing and, although it still catches fish, I think it's time for an upgrade. I'm looking for something nice and light that wont super break my bank. A friend of mine ga...

The last few times I've been shore fishing have yielded nothing from my usual honey holes. I got out one last time Friday for a few hours and had more bad luck than good  I'm going to hope for one more nice day to get out, but I'm thinking it's just about time to pack up and wait for ice fishing
