Re: A Solo Roady North III. "The New Fly Fisher."
What exactly do you use for a charging system on these remote trips? Obviously solar, but what setup are you running? No solar. Every year something different is done and I never run short of battery life really. Nice thing about the quiet Yammy tiller is it can often take the place of the MinnKota...

Luke took the words out of my mouth.
To consistently catch these "micro" fish by "micro fishing" is a rather unique endeavor. And I do agree, a different kind of challenge.

Re: A Solo Roady North III. "The New Fly Fisher."
I've solo fished only a few times and it's something that I should do more of because sometimes you just can't find a fishing partner. Fishing solo is the difference between fishing or staying at home wishing you were fishing. I can't help but to feel paranoid at times when I'm alone in the bush be...

Always a kind reply and usually one of the first to do so Smitty. Appreciated bud!
Thanks for always reading the reports through and helping keep them alive.
Who knows, the next one you might like even more...?

Re: A Solo Roady North III. "The New Fly Fisher."
Day 7. "SPECK ON!" After a big pork chop dinner night before, Rob really outdid himself at breakfast when he whipped up some peach pancakes and bacon with real maple syrup. Sooo good and filling, and the grease and sugar grit meant only one thing... my finger... some paste... and a little...

Re: A Solo Roady North III. "The New Fly Fisher."
Day 4. COLOSSAL. Man alive did the sleep do me well in the peaceful outdoors. Pop in earplugs so the night critters and early birds don't disturb and just doze away breathing fresh air. Upon waking, checked the marine forecast for the day ahead and it was calling for a high of 30C and only a wispy ...

A Solo Roady North III. "The New Fly Fisher."
A SOLO ROADY NORTH III. "The New Fly Fisher." Boils down to reflections and connections I suppose... The desire to just get away alone, hit the open road and ride through whatever may come. Some stops planned, others left to chance. "A Solo Roady North" each spring seems to fulf...

Re: Best Fishing Lure Ever - Pike and Bass
Is this kind of lure tweaking and thinking that might actually make those lures worth their hefty price tag.
Well done, I "like" this. The foam insert makes it gold man.

Re: A Spring So Far From TROUT to GAR!!!
Record worthy fish!! Did you get a measurement on that sucker? No, and kinda wished I had just to know. Belief is that a past redhorse sucker Ontario record came from the same system and I have seen really big redhorse in there. Wasn't expecting the whites so much. Used to get really big fallfish u...

Re: A Spring So Far From TROUT to GAR!!!
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/Bunx/Bunx%20Album6/z09a_zpsqclea6vi.jpg I did call the gar wimps and although that's negative I guess it's not entirely true, the real big ones can be pretty tough. And it's been a strange weather spring making the days out a little different... so maybe too m...

Re: A Spring So Far From TROUT to GAR!!!
Not sure about all the negative talk about the gar fishing, but I I can read between the lines. Just because you're seeing people in the shallows doesn't mean they're fishing gar. I would also say you seem to be on the gar a lot, so perhaps it's your boat that is making them skiddish and not "...

Re: A Spring So Far From TROUT to GAR!!!
Great work on dressing up the new ride there Bunk. That's quite the high holder for the Salty. Looks good and sturdy. The one thing I noticed is that you didn't install any running lights for night time tours. Is that still in the plans? Some nice fish there too of course. I specially like that Bro...

Re: A Spring So Far From TROUT to GAR!!!
There has been some serious reflection this past month with the sale of the WarCanoe. So many memories, so many trips, so many fish, I can look back in my fifteen years of fishing journals and relive many great days in the freighter canoe. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/Bunx/Bunx%20Album6/13...

A Spring So Far From TROUT to GAR!!!
A Spring So Far From TROUT to GAR!!! It seems like an eternity has passed since last sitting down to write a report, days have truly been flying by... April was a month I thought rather planned out until that fell apart, while May was expected to be time for a whole lot of whatever and it ended up ...
