Between the Garmin and the paper maps, I have a general idea of lake depths, but these are only approximate and should not be relied upon for safe navigation. The ca...

Do the wires for the power, transducer etc come into a plastic holder that the fishfinder screen snaps onto? I find I occasionally have power or transducer problems because the plastic wiring bracket holder is not well designed, and the wires for the transducer, power and weather unit barely plug in...

Minn Kota Powerdrive 45lb thrust
After a bunch of research, I went with the Minn Kota V2 Powerdrive, 45 lb thrust. It was calm on the water, and we held at 2 knots trolling speed with no problems. As I...

Buying online from BassPro
Anyone have experience buying a large item like a trolling motor from Bass Pro online? With Cabelas, they tell you the full shipping and duty/taxes, but BP just indicates that the shipping (for a trolling motor) is $18.00, and that taxes get sorted out at this end. It also indicates that shipping ch...

Thanks for the replies gents. I drove by today and saw someone putting in. He said the water was low, about 3 feet in the bay, but it gets deeper as you move out toward the river proper. As Smokercraft said, its a nice gravel bottom at the launch. Do you use your trolling motors to get out to deeper...
