Walleye Hunter

Your fish are awesome. But what is incredible is your consistancy. Do you fish the same spot and if so how did you come across this spot? Is there a big hump or something?

Hi Guys

It was a real mess over at the Aylmer marina on Thursday. 6 to 8 inches of water in places. Not good for trying to get to a tip up quickly. There is a big derby there this weekend, so hopefully it freezes up.

Cheers,
Steve

Hey Tip Up

I looked for you yesterday to say hi but I could not find you. Were you behind the five or six huts out past the point. If that was the case I would not have seen you. The current is strong through there and does make it tricky.

Yannick My biggest walleye was also late at night. Would you fish in as shallow as 2 or 3 feet? My buddy in Alberta, which has a much longer ice season (Mid April) does really well late in the year in very shallow spots? Of course the lakes in Alberta are much different than the Ottawa River. Cheers...

Fish'n Buddy Interesting idea with two minnows hooked by the tail on a small trebble. I was thinking of getting a spliter rig and fishing two minnows. One thing about jigging bigger lures, you dont catch the small sauger too often. I also really like to bang the lures off the bottom to stir up some ...

Jan 17th Ottawa river

Hi Everyone I managed to get out for a few hours this afternoon. Again I was trying a place I had not fished before. This winter I sold my ice hut and bought a tent. I am really enjoying going to different spots, especially ones that are very close to home. Anyways I set up in about ten feet of wate...

Live Minnows in Aylmer

Hi Everyone

I discovered that at the Aylmer carwash on Front street, they are now selling live minnows. This is really convenient for us over here.

Cheers,

Hey Guys I have a normark auger and have always thought it was pretty good for a hand auger. 8 inch hole hand augers are not great for around here though....way too much ice. Unless you are looking for a good work out. I actually use a hand auger until the ice is around 8 inches. After that it is al...

Saturday Morning Ottawa River

Hi Everyone I got up early Saturday morning to try and and catch some walleye. Man it was cold setting up and drilling holes. I was trying a new spot and was unsure of depths. I set up in 8 feet of water. I usually like deeper but because it was very early, I thought I would be okay. After talking t...

Ottawa River Aylmer

Hi everyone Went out for the first time this year and had a great but frustrating trip. I fished for about 90 minutes. I managed two walleye. One that I was able to get a picture of. The second I tried to get a picture of and could not because my camera battery died. The camera was out in the cold f...

Whitefish

Hey Joco

When do you think you would be heading to 31 mile lake. I have a cottage nearby and would be interested in meeting up for an afternoon. I used to fish whites all the time in Alberta but not down here.

Hi Walker

Your idea sounds like a good one, especially on sunny days. My question is- if I have an 8 inch hole, I should therefore cut the styrofoam to 8 inches.

It is amazing that the roads in Quebec are about the same quality as Mexico's and the government orders us to put on mandatory winter tires.
Talk about passing the buck.

As a Quebec resident I have come accept this province is hopeless!!!!!!!
We should be under third party management

hi cprince

You may want to think about the Zec Pontiac. There are walleye lakes in the area. Access is from around gracefield/ messines.
