Got out on the Rideau out of Kars this morning for a little fish, more so had to get the boat floating to do some work on my trailer than a real fishing trip, but always time to wet a line . . . Rock shoals are an obvious one, we found a couple spots though where a creek ran in from a big marsh, the water was a few degrees warmer, and the fish were staying close, found the spot by trolling, was glad we stopped to check it out From a canoe is tough to do better than trolling 2 lines for lake...

I'll be heading in on the west side of the park just after opening weekend. Did alright last year for lakers, trolling Wablers found some fish, good old jig and twister worked well if they were stationary, I like the old lake trout rule for plastics: any colour, as long as its white . . .
