Was out for Splake on Friday, (tend to run deep in this lake, much like laker fishing) and it was really slow. Got one good one, but it just barely moved the tip-up, thought it was another tiny perch bite . . .

Temagami also has some 'remote' areas, just over 4hrs, lots of smallies, walleye and lakers, I think pike are more confined to the southern end, but lots of great lodges there too, I'd also second the French River idea . . .

just keep them cold . . . I have some small minnows I bought from Gord over a week ago, they've traveled to and from two lakes in the past week, (sadly most have been coming home, but that's another story, next time Gord I'll ask for the lucky ones) haven't had a single minnow die at home yet, dace ...

Very true about rural vs. urban stores . . .

The Canadian Tire in CP is actually a St. Croix retailer even . . . limited selection compared to a local fishing shop, but you aren't going to find Mojo Bass rods at any of the other Ottawa area locations that's for sure . . .

Most operations on Nipissing have been trending towards the bungalows for years. Being from that area I've never stayed in one, always had our own hut out, but they sure look impressive, and come with a lot of options. Not sure if he has other accommodation, but Rob Hyatt (Rob's Fishing Charters and...

Thanks Craig, a lot of good resources there!

Old being a relative term, I've used a couple 1950's models once or twice in the past, their vintage almost makes me feel bad about cursing them for not starting!

I'll hunt around, then give Laurentian a call if I come up empty . . .

Good place for old outboard parts?

I've got an older Johnson 20HP outboard, that I think from the code is a 1984. J20CRC|M I'm looking for a scrap pile or parts collection for a tiller handle assembly, mine has developed a crack in one of the two halves, and also the bevel gear is cracked that transfers throttle control into the moto...

MinnKota Powerdrive V2 question . . .

55lb model came with the boat, great motor, love it, with one exception . . . How do other owners get the @#$& thing off the cradle to deploy? I'm up in the nose of my 14ft, and have to hammer on that thing to get it out of the cradle, the rest of the day I just run around with it straight verti...

I'd love to try and get out, depending on work schedule . . . Farren has always caught my eye, but never been there. The MNR won't continue to stock a lake with no public access. I called them about one on the current list that I couldn't see a way to access without ignoring "No Trespassing&quo...

It's just panfish in zone 15 until the 3rd Sat in May (a week later than down here in zone 18) I'm from the Mag originally, and as others have mentioned there are good Pike in Cecebe, along with some eyes as well I think the only fish of interest at this time is perch, never tried for them much so c...

If I recall the size I have the most of is 1/3oz. I ran weight, (if any) about 4-6ft up the line

The weight was mostly for mid-day if we could mark suspended fish 15-25ft, dawn and dusk they were shallower and no weight was needed

First week of May should be bug free, it will still likely be below zero some nights though, that's the trade off for the lack of bugs. I'm not an old pro by any means, but make sure you are ready for any weather, days of rain, wind and snow could make things miserable in a hurry if you aren't prepa...

Have had good luck flat lining Cleos and Wablers the last couple years for lakers in the NW corner of the park.

you can easily add some depth running a sinker up the line, and vary the weight if you are over open water, or up on a shoal
