look for turkey droppings and tracks, to see if turkeys are usually in the area,just because you don't hear any turkeys gobble in the morning when scouting one day, doesn't mean they ain't there the next. i don't think it is a cash grab, I think it is a tool for the MNR and POLICE services to use against you in court in the event of any charges to prove you were a competent boat operator. I've seen a cougar one time about 3 years ago, coming along the 401 east of port hope in the morning. to me it was a once in a life time sighting.
