Re: Nanofil + Leader
I just use a double uni knot seems to work ok. Nanofil is very thin so try to make sure your leader line diameter is similar to the nanofil, this should help with your slipping problem.

Fishing gets tough for everybody bud, beginners and pros alike. Secret is to simplify and do what your good at to get out of the slump. If you don't know many techniques yet, I would suggest sticking with BASIC tactics that have been catching fish for decades. Slip bobber and worm/leech is deadly. S...

Re: tough fishing
I hope your right Yannick that the best fishing is still yet to come! So far the trips have been the kind where you know 5 minutes after arriving that the fish just aren't there, no nibbles or signs of life anywhere. However it is early in the year and the long winter is just releasing its hold on t...

tough fishing
Hey guys, Went out fishing on tuesday to a spot that is usually a slam dunk for walleye early on in the spring. Big ole goose egg ! We did catch some pike and missed a big one over 30 inches. The water is much lower than usual for the ottawa at this time of year, also the water is still very cold. I...

very sad news I have been to bps in vaughan and it was awesome! Store looked amazing, very cool aquarium and wall ornaments, not to mention the assortment of tackle they had. How does Cabela's stack up in regards to lure selection? I'm hoping they sell some american products it's tiring going to wal...

I just caught a mudpuppie today in the city, also caught one ice fishing last year at shirley's bay. Very cool creatures move so quickly on land and in the water.

Re: Johnson silver spoon
Johnson's are kick butt spoons, tried many that look similar but this one catches more fish than the others. I like to put a big tube on the back of it for some added lift and work it on top. When you hit an open spot in the weeds u stop reeling and let the flash of the spoon catch you some fish!

saving money on line
Hey boys, I'm buying line for most of my reels this year and would like to not break the bank doing so. I have two spinning reels that need braid, one baitcaster that needs mono for topwater/spinnerbait fishing, and one more baitcaster with 50-80 pound braid for musky fishing. The spinning reels I'm...

Re: where are the biggest catfish of the regions..??
Victoria Island has some big cats in there, I have caught a few pushing 20 pounds. Trick is that the larger ones seem to hit in summer time and they stay in deep holes more. Park at victoria island but walk along the bike path until you find the "whirlpool" spot :) It is a deep hole near a...

lol kerrazy I have that problem too, friend of mine snags more often than anyone I have ever seen!!! Always tying new rigs on for her, so I simplified and now she throws a red and white bobber with a jighead on the working end. Rarely snags and when she does its just one knot and jighead to tie on a...

Re: Fishing both sides of the Ottawa with Ontario License?
Wow so just to be clear, you can legally fish from shore in quebec with an ontario sportfishing licence, as long as it is on the ottawa river and you catch and release everything?
