Bit if a drive, but one of the best spring shore locations is the coverts near oziles at Petrie island. Good warm water current in the spring and water drops down to 20' hole, holding everything the ottawa has to offer, especially walleye. Where the carp river eventually dumps into the ottawa river ...

Kempville has great shore fishing spots, especially for crappie in early spring. Kempville creek before it dumps into the rideau, as well as multiple over passes for feeder creeks that dump into the rideau along river and the rideau river road. Both Directly tie where sensitivity is involved, like hand holding rods such as jigging and bottom bouncing. Snaps definitely when cranks are involved, but the right snaps duo-lok. Managed to get out with Sheldon Hatch for a couple of hour on Lake Ontario. After a bit of searching we managed to dial it in as we caught some nice walleye.
