Re: motor guide wireless trolling power issues
You said the plug and receptacle are new. I would check the wiring connections on both sides to make sure you have a complete circuit. My plug and receptacle (Marinco) have 3 prongs but only 2 wires from the batteries (2 in series) and 2 from my 24v Minn Kota PD. I have never had the plug or recepta...

Re: St.Lawrence Water Navigation
This season the water levels on Lake St Lawrence (Iroquois to Long Sault) have been extremely low. By as much as 4-5 feet. It has recovered a little bit in the last week but you may find yourself in significantly less water ghan your chart indicates. The attached pictures were taken at the RBT Class...

Re: transducer rooster tail
Humminbird also has a small rubber plug that fills the gap between the transducer and the mounting bracket. It helps reduce the rooster tail effect. There was one included with my new Helix 7 that I installed earlier this year..

Re: Arming for the Musky hunt
Hi guys! All of your suggestions are valuable, aside from overstockbait, can someone also recommend the best local store? Check out the new site sponsor, Young Tackle Supply (www.youngtacklesupply.com). Just ordered 4 in-line spinners. I am impressed with the quality of the components and they look...

Re: Princecraft Livewell slot???
Would it be a place to hold the live well dividers? I see the livewell walls are slotted for a divider.

Re: Navionics+ - US and Canada Compatability
Just to close the loop on this, I took the Navionics Gold chip which was bundled with my Lowrance Elite 5 DSI to Ed and we tried it in a Humminbird Helix 7. The unit recognized the chip and was able to access the detailed maps on it. A big thank you to Ed for helping me answer the question and while...

Re: Navionics+ - US and Canada Compatability
Was just checking the original documentation for the Lowrance unit. It was bundled with "complete Navionics Gold Coastal Data for both US and Canada. Plus 125 major Canadian lakes"

Navionics+ - US and Canada Compatability
I purchased my Lowrance Elite 5 DSI with the Navionic+ US & Canada Bundle a few years back. I am upgrading my ff to a Humminbird Helix 7. Can I use the old Nav+ card from the Lowrance or do I need a new one. The card is registered to the Lowrance unit.
Thanks

Re: Choosing the right trolling motor
X2 on the Terrova. If you can sneak it in the budget I would go with the 80lbs thrust, 24 volt model. The extra thrust will come in handy on those windy days or in heavy current. I would also seriously consider an on-board charging system if you are not already equipped. Good luck with your purchase.

Re: Prop Info
Try using the prop selector app on the Mercury Marine website (www.mercurymarine.com). That will get you into the ball park. Then I would talk to your dealer for some recommendations. Personally I think you are pitched too high at 19. 5000 rpm WOT seems a bit low. Going to a 17P prop would bring you...

Re: Outboard travel covers
I see you are powered by Mercury. Check out the covers on www.mercurydockstore.com. These are custom fit covers for your particular engine. I had my dealer include one when I bought by rig in 2010. I use the cover religiously and the Merc still looks like the day I took delivery. With a custom fit i...

If the story is true it sheds some light on why the Kanata BP was cancelled and the Cabellas is proceeding. No duplication of real estate in the eastern Ontario marketplace.

Re: Marine Survey for Insurance
My insurance company wanted a survey when my PrincecrAft 176 SuperPro turned 15 yrs old. Since it wAs not a cruiser type boat they accepted a letter from my dealer outlining that all systems (electrical, fuel, propulsion, steering) were in good operating condition and that hull was seaworthy. My dea...
