Re: Looking for fishing cabins with pontoon rental to rent within 2 hours of Ottawa

Lake Trout season is now closed but the lake has an excellent Smallmouth population along with Pike and panfish like Crappie. Its a gorgeous lake with tons of islands and plenty of areas to ...

Re: Joes Lake Campsite
This will tell you if it's crown land. I don't know for sure but I don't believe its a maintained campsite by South Frontenac that you would have to book. You could check that as well online.

Re: Wicksteed Lake near Marten River
Big long shallow lake with one 20ft+ hole near the bottom of the lake. Looks like the best access would be from the Marten Lake rd and then at the bend hang a left and go up to the dam where it looks like there's some open area for camping. Google Earth shows the boat launch there as well. Here's th...

Re: honda 20 hp issue
I talked to my marine mechanic, he suggested you can test the stator before you buy. Lots of videos on YouTube… multimeter and a couple wires to test. Then you would know if the stator was the issue or something else. Yea I saw some of those too. A basic resistance check on the three coils will sho...

Re: Shirley's Bay 2024 Ice season
- The guy walks all the way across the river from Aylmer to fish there!!! Given the ice this year and the shoals that are out there, you wouldn't catch me trying that LOL! Cheers CCLad! Same thing happened to us one time. We were out pretty far in strong current one afternoon and we see thi...

Re: Shirley's Bay 2024 Ice season
Agreed thanks Smitty that was a good read. Going to make the trek out far this weekend if it isn't too cold. Bites came between 520-530 for me. I rarely stay out late enough for ling as I don't have a shack and it sure gets cold out there once the sun sets! I spent by far most of my many many years...

Smitty thanks for the feedback! Lenny I’ll let you know for sure if I’m heading out solo at all! Glad to hear some fish are being caught - and yeah - most importantly let’s hope for a cold snap! No problem Cap.I could never understand why so many folks were leaving the ice right at prime time becau...
