Batteries?

With the Carp show fast approaching I've been looking for a battery. The battery would be for my new Minn Kota 46 lb thrust transom mounted motor. Any personal opinions of brands/sizes as well as rough estimates on prices would be greatly appreciated.

I got into making my own leaders last season, although I wanted to go heavier (and plan on doing so this year), I used 80 lb Seaguar and used crimps vs. the tieing (was a pain to get consistent knots with such thick line). Never had one break all season, however, their durrability was suspect after ...

Looks pretty neat, any idea what one of those would cost?

Wouldn't just having the worm-gear move with the spool do the same thing? Either way it looks pretty ingenious...hopefully one of the shows this winter/spring have some on display

Dave Mercer at Sportsman Show

I've been itching since the ice hit for the Sportsman Show to return to Ottawa, but even more so now. Recently I received an email from the Facts of Fishing website stating all of Mercer's upcoming tour locations...and March 1st he's going to be giving a seminar in Ottawa...don't know if this is old...

Good info so far, as for the whole trolling part of it, I would be strickly using it for positioning, I fish muskie 98% of the time so if I do troll I'd be using my main motor. I've been looking at the Endura model, $200 for the 46 lb thrust seems to be a pretty decent deal. Money is not necessarily...

Motor question/experiences?

Well now that there's no, or very little open water (tried on the weekend and smashing through ice with an anchor gets tiring) I'm looking into researching some more additions for my boat. This year is a transom mounted trolling motor. Few questions for you folks My boat is a 14' Lowe Sea Nymph, fai...

Cheapest ice fishing gear?

Never been ice fishing before, however, last year we got my boat out the 18th of december; with 2 cinderblocks attached to rope and chain we smashed our way out of the boat launch ice and into the channel haha, had a great time doing it hahaha. This year I cant imagine going all winter without some ...

I haven't had any problems with crimps, so far with 8 fish this year all my leader damage has come from simple use or teeth...part of the reason I want to beef up, tired of throwing away lures because they deteriorate after one day of use.

I have a Sportspal, and love it, never fished out of a kayak so I cant say, I'd imagine it'd be pretty entertaining. The one thing I like about the Sprotspal is it weighs nothing, maybe 15 lbs, and its quite stable

Homemade ski leaders

Long time since I've been on here, sometime in July I think (too busy fishing haha). LeBarons does not seem carry heavy end stuff I'm looking for, and I cant remember any of the local stores carrying anything like this...I may be wrong. This season I've got away with lighter leaders (65 lbs), so far...
