Proposition! Looking to Rent a Fly Rod

Aloha fellow fly fishermen, Heading to Nanaimo for a week July.22 on a Salmon trip. Being a fly-freak I thought I'd try my hand at coastal fly fishing low tides. However, I could not justify buying a 8-10wt rod just for the trip, I do almost all my fly flinging with a 5wt. Sure it would of made for ...

Fish Sanctuary on Madawaska Lake/River. Mc.Nabb Township

Hey, Went for a wee tour in my boat last week (no rods) and came across a bay, that had fish sanctuary signs everywhere. All the signs said was Fish Sanctuary-No fishing. No information regarding when its legal to fish in there on the Friday before the third Saturday in May, for pike and walleye, wh...

Hey

Problem is I'm a lefty and The revo winch is the only left handed reel that comes with a 5:4:1 gear ratio....that I've been able to find. Do I have any alternatives to a winch?

Vendors: Abu Garcia- Carp Show?

Hey,

Do any of the vendors in the carp show have the new line up of Abu Garcia baitcasters, specifically the "Winch" with the 5:4:1 gear ratio?

Thanks, Ian

Small Outboard Lower Unit Lubricant

Hey,

Just wondering what the members of fish-hawk use for lower unit lubricant in their small outboards? I have a 5hp Honda that should be changed before the spring.

Thanks, Ian

I think the camera would be cool for bass fishing and looking under docks in the summer, chuck a wacky worm at them. But controling the camera with just the cable would be difficult, maybe its a two person job? p.s. if city-it says the pike is 20lbs then its 20lbs, no need to jump down the guys thro...

Hey, Wouldn't a good pair of polarizied sun glasses cut most of the glare? Sorry to steal the thread Surg, but what about camera control? I know there are "pole" attachments that you can get but those seem cumbersome, is it not frustrating and tedious to control the camera by twisting the ...

It's hard to beat a quantum. The energy and tour are both awesome reels and have never let me down. Getting a higher quality baitcaster when first starting out makes learning that much easier. Basspro is a great store, but why don't you look into the local stores around where you are? Support the Ma...

Hey, He mentioned that the motor kicks back into gear, all the shear pin is, is a sacrificial piece of metal on smaller outboards to prevent the prop from destroying itself if it gets hung up. Once it shears of it accentually desables the prop from the engine, its got nothing to with the F/ N/ R. Or...

Hey I've fished near the claybank boat launch all summer, with a lot of success. I find that the bass sm and Lm are very predictable on what they relate to. If you think a certain fallen tree or dropoff will hold big fish it most likely will if not consider changing to a finesse worm. Was out on Mon...

Since there are so many options to chose from size, color, chunk, I'm wondering what all the fish hawkers favorite jig and chuck combinations are ?

Great idea for a post Tip Up If there is large population of crayfish I would use a deep diving crankbait in crayfish pattern and bang in along the contour of the slope with pauses for the aggresive fish then use a finess worm for the sluggish. Then cover the shallower water with a white/chartruese ...

Hey, I dont want a charger that runs off an outlet or one that runs of the outboards alternator, something the can generate its own energy like a solar panel. I have a charger but it plugs into an outlet meaning I can't take it on my boat so if the battery runs out the days pretty much over, I'm loo...
