Overall it was slow for us, but we weren't doing what we needed to... Once we found where they were, and what they wanted, we managed 4 fish in 1.5 hours! it was busy, 6 lines, 4+ foot waves, boards going off.... Just what we wnated. We found the active fish to be deep, when fishing shallow, all we ...

I too think it's a great idea. As said, I can think iof 20+ local teams (Ottawa Valley/quebec area) that would be into it... Probably many of the usuals that Burger would be talking about, but if it didn't conflict with other tourneys, had payouts like that, a good venue and didn't have to deal with...

i too have to say that for BIG walleye, there's nowhere in ontario that can compare. The ottawa!? ya right!, you may get numbers, but not big ones, same for lake of the woods etc etc. Yes every now and again you nail a pig in these other waters, but by no means would it be common. Heading to BOQ tom...

I have a 3hp Jiffy 10". Drilled MANY of holes usually through 30+" of ice, times where the base of the motor is touching the ice. Starts right away, doesn't take a ton of time to "warm up". Heavier, but much tougher. I'm assuming wieght shouldn't be an issue, as not many folks hi...

There have been many studies on this. Studies have shown that fish lack the neo-cortex, which is the part of the brain that senses pain. Why do they fight, pull head shake etc, as stated it is a response to physical stimuli. Google it up!

to me if there's buoys there, there's structure, and structure = fish, so I'd be more inclined to check it out/fish it. whether it be tournaments or not, flipping docks/boathouses/boats is great but we as anglers need to be respectful to the owners and not be making direct contact with our lures to ...

Ya it's a worm box. Put your worms and soil/bedding in it and periodically dip it in the water to keep things moist and cool. If you soak it 2 bad things will happen, the papery/corky material (whatever it is) will become very brittle and crack, chunk off or break. And the second bad thing is too mu...

Just east of McConnell Point, there's that small island, (you can probably see it from your buddies place) between it and shore is a great spot for musky, search around there with your finder and look for the "Sunken Island". Do the usual for musky until you hit one then pattern colors etc...

I've been but never fished. When I was there and got to asking around, i heard it was a good idea to ask others that you meet at the resort and try to put your own group together and then seek out a charter. My wife is there now and will be back in a few days. I'll see if she has any more info. Thra...

On youtube, search "truckclip" (one word) and imagine trolling with this! I'd want to be running planer boards to get the lures away from the noise! The only thing missing is rod holders on the box!

I've been out 4 times so far this year. The pike, walleye and perch are biting very well right now. The ice is very inconsistent all over as of 2 days ago. Some areas along shorelines were wide open. One side of Callander bay had 9-10" and the other side 4-5", with a small open spot in the...

I have never fished it during the hardwater season, but have fished it countless times in the summer. There are walleye, pike bass and pan fish. The shorelines drop off quick and have good structure off of them. It's a nice body of water, good luck with the piece of land.

They "would" work with an 18v with an 8" auger under the perfect ice consistency, temperature etc. etc. realistically, the bigger the drill the better, and the smaller the hole the better, (as I typed that, it could be taken a few different ways LOL  ) As previously stated, the b...
