Re: Neighbour selling boat - how much should he ask?

He says it looks like in the early 60's fir the motor. Not sure about the boat but it looks to be around the same vintage.

Neighbour selling boat - how much should he ask?

Hi everyone, with the years of experience and knowledge on this site I thought I'd turn to you all for some advice for my neighbour. He is 87 years old and is starting to lose his eyesight. He has been an avid fisherman for several decades but now needs to let his boat go. It is a 16.5 foot tinny wi...

Shore fishing along Highway 7 - any suggestions?

My wife and I will be on vacation the first week of September and will be going to visit our son in Toronto. We plan on taking a day and coming back to Ottawa along Highway 7...stopping along the way to dip the lines and see what is out there. We will not have a boat so I'm looking for suggestions a...

I'm also looking for some sort of shelter. Not looking for anything over the $200 mark and it will used mainly as a windbreak. The guys I fish with like to spread out over the ice and we drill at least 4 holes in a 20 or 30 foot radius. I was looking at the CLAM but they will charge $40 or more to s...

Pinhey's Point ?

My neighbour just came back from some shore fishing at Baskin's Beach. He was talking to some other folks shore fishing there and they said they were at Pinhey's Point over the weekend and caught a lot of bass and pike from the shore. Does anyone know of any shore fishing spots around Pinhey's Point...

We can guarantee those jokers were not members of this community. Mostly this year my neighbour and I have been fishing around Shirley's Bay. So far, we have towed two boats and helped one overturned canoe. In all three incidents, we were not the only boats in the water and not the only ones offerin...

To try and tell you two or three spots that are constantly "on" would be nearly impossible. Every spot has its good days and its bad days in my experience. Take a day, take your car and try maybe two dozen different spots, then go back a few days later and the action may be different, or i...

In my opinion there is no such thing as a bad report. I only get out once or twice a month so I read every report and every story with the eagerness of a schoolboy. I love to learn what other people are using, what type of water they are in, what the weather is like, etc. The pictures are great whet...

Thanks folks. Now that I know the correct answer I'd just like to know if there are any external signs to alert someone to the presence of heavy metals in fish?

And to think I could have kept that pike.....

Black spots = Mercury ??

Was fishing yesterday morning at Shirley's Bay. Caught a really nice 5lb pike. It had some random small black dots on its sides. My fishing partner, who is considerably older than I and who has been fishing for nearly 60 years, said the black spots mean there is mercury in the fish. Not that I doubt...
