Been barbless and happy since I put one between my ear cartilage and skull.
The number of fish lost is negligible and hook removal is a lot quicker.

Re: Cecil the Lion - How things change
Interesting. I read one study recently that concluded the sum monetary value of each grizzly bear in BC to be 12 higher through eco tourism than it would be through trophy hunting. I don't know how accurate that number is, but it makes sense given that a bear shot through a telephoto lens can be 'pa...

Re: Cecil the Lion - How things change
I wouldn't trust Conrad Black's wet rag of a newspaper to give me the time of day. There's also nothing in that article that justifies the killing of a visibly collared research lion outside of legal hunting territory by a guy known to be a repeat poacher. There's a reason Zimbabwe requested that lo...

Re: Brookies and Bows
I thought it was whatsthiscarp...?
For brook trout...
I've had success with the smallest marmooska jigs (?1/64oz) tipped with a maggot.
Suspending a piece of worm in 3-4 FOW works sometimes at low light.
2lb straight fluoro.

Couldn't they just shove lead down their gullets like normal tourney anglers?

Ontario should have allowed it...but the participants/organizers are just as unreasonable for being unwilling to stick to just one rod.

"Both the fish are being identified as grass carp, which belong to the Asian carp family."
New York State stocks sterile triploids for weed control. Every now and then one crosses the border. One was caught at Hoople a few years ago. It's not a big deal.
