Re: Best Fall Musky braid...

I have no problems with powerpro been using it forever, but I use 80 # test minimum.

One trick to keep the ice off in the fall is a silicone spray on your eyelets, I was out Saturday and there was some ice on my line but it can easily be taken care of by letting some line out or in.

Re: Not a World Record Musky

All of this because someone was desperate for some more likes for his Facebook page.

I sure hope the lucky angler doesn't get lambasted because of it and we can all get to see such of rare fish.

Congrats to Ross, Peter or Larry or whomever it is that caught the fish.

I've been told by the few that fish it that it is a good area for muskies but I don't think anyone guides there at least not from the Ontario side. Lots of guides up or down from there.

What a beautifull fish, they sure were exited. Definitely nice the see them release it and it looked strong. More like a 30 pounder then 15-20 for sure.

Isn't there other cheaper flameless heater options? I still use a srew on propane container heater for the boat in the fall. You still can't get in contact with anything but there is no flame or fumes coming from it.

Kid scissors are quite safe, rounded tips, short and all.

Definitly not one hour downriver from Orleans, the more you head this way the fewer the pike. Still some 34-36 inch or 10 lbs class pike but there are more and probably bigger ones west of Ottawa. I remember even Constance lake known for numbers always putting out a few 14-15 lb pike every year.

Wanted to get some of those, didn't know you can use them winter and summer how cool. I actually saw a guy kite skying in the bay around the bend when we were ice fishing there last weekend. He was on skis and quite smaller kite. This guy looks like he's got the same setup as the guys we see flying ...

I have the same problem trying to get my kid hooked up. just getting into it so not looking at spending a lot of $$$ if he's not going to ice fish a lot. So for now we just keep drilling 2 more holes ( old hand auger is hard on old man ) everytime he goes out. Might look at getting a used power auge...

I had mentioned how high the water was when it frooze, it allready has dropped over a foot breaking away from the shore. Now it's already got water and slush pockets all over it and it isn't that warm yet. No one listened to the news last week? They closed the ferry in Cumberland as all the ice down...

We have over 7 inches of ice downriver out this way. many huts are out in the bay already.

I was working on the kids skating rinks yesterday as my son was dipping a line near by and only got one bite for his efforts.
