Re: Parking when camping on boat in sites
I've seen people fishing at Wabun lots of times. I've caught perch no lakers. Always a crowd of youths at the launch and a lot of trash. Mostly friendly though and they didn't mess with my truck ever. (but you just need that 1 guy on a bad bender and your good luck streak's over). MNR put signs no c...

Re: Quebec Canoe Tripping
You could try Lac Dumont? camp on your own private beach. great fishing. only problem is the main access point, the big beach is a crazy party zone. I've seen more than a couple trashed cars there. There are other accesses elsewhere on the lake But you need to know the way. there is also free campin...

Re: Bow Lake (Lanark) ?
thanks for the replys. Ok, so not a fishing destination lake. Kids might not have issue catching minnows and panfish though so might be ok by them. I have google Earth on my pc but the resolution is for some reason much worse than when I checked the web link above that Salv posted. It looks like the...

Re: Oriole lake access - bogie
There is (was?) a way in from the north, off the 508. I made it in a 4x4 ranger several years ago. The path was very gnarly with some serious rocks.

Bow Lake (Lanark) ?
Hi, I'm looking to maybe buy a cheap cottage or land and I saw a couple of places listed at Bow Lake in Lanark. Does anyone know anything about this lake? I came across a Lanark tourism lake info page and it said the maximum depth was 6 feet! There is no way this lake is Rain(bow) lake if that is tr...

Re: McKay lake/the pond
You are right Todd. "The Pond, just south of McKay Lake, was originally a sand and gravel pit, excavated over the period 1890 to 1949. The Sandpits, as it was called then, filled with water over time. Even during the time of sand extraction, it was a popular swimming hole. Swimming is allowed i...

Re: lavant long lake
The forest access road is the gravel road coming in that way from the K&P by Clyde forks. Maybe 2km it takes a sweeping U bend, right at the bottom of the U there is a trail going down to the creek which leads to Lavant long. Once it was high & looked navigable, another time was barely a tri...

Re: lavant long lake
I drive a 4x4 ranger an I got into Levant longlake a couple years ago but it rained alot & man we barely made it out, definite better to hike in if you don't have a quad, you maybe even able to get a canoe down the creek at the east end, or even bushwack from there, much closer access from the f...

Camping at access points
Hi there I am new to the board and also to fishing, more or less. Lets say its been years since I caught anything of note. But recently as my g.f and I spend more time camping its something I dabbled at a bit from shore last year and this year I hope to borrow a canoe more often and get some decent ...
