I also agree. 15 bucks for the launch is way too high and the fact the docks were not in makes it worse. With that being said it is the best launching facility I have seen in the Ottawa area. 2 quality ramps, a couple of out houses for when nature calls, and lots of parking for at least 40 to 50 boa...

Like RJ said. A boat greatly increases your chances of catching fish by the park. But you won't have to travel far. The weed mats right in front of the park hold lots of bass and pike. As well, the other side of the river is also great. The outside canal edge of the weeds always have active fish on ...

As ED said. The charger will decrease the amps as it charges. Most charges now a days will shutoff when the battery is fully charge. Check to see if you charger does. I have a CT special and I charge on the 12 amp setting. The charger shuts off once the battery has been charged. As a FYI, I used the...

This is always a hot topic is cause bass season is the very last species specific season to open and they are actively spawning while other seasons are just opening up. There is never a problem with people fishing for spawning Walleye or Pike because the season for all species are closed during the ...

Re: Bass
Just an FYI, removing a bass from a nest at anytime (in or out of season) does have an effect. The fry in the nest will be eaten by the time the bass gets back to the nest (if it does get back). Specifically, the physiological stress of capture may compromise the ability of a bass to return to its n...

Some food for thought base on a couple comments... Anglers (should be anyone holding a fishing rod) interested in bass should not have to wait till a bass population is in trouble to stop certain angling practises that may harm a bass population. I find we are often to reactive and not proactive eno...

Keep in mind you should not be trying to convince the CO you are not fishing for bass. If you are catching bass you should move based on the fact you want to protect the bass and not because some CO is going to think you are targeting bass. Respect the spawn all! BTW, like CCB said they are not spaw...

While your statements do make sense you must remember that Pike are a very agressive fish. If you are catching more bass than pike in an area than that likely means the location is more suitable for bass than pike. The general recommendation is that if you are catching more bass than pike, than simp...

Firefox, Bass caught in 12 feet of water at this time of year would be a pre-spawn bass. The females are often bigger than the males during pre-spawn as they will have a stomach full of eggs. There won't be any nest in 12 feet of water. Bass don't even start to think about spawning till the water is...
