Bass aren't just shallow. I have caught many a bass in the middle of the lake with the aid of the depth finder. Both largemouth and smallmouth. This is an untapped resource and you usually don't have to share you spot with anyone. Check it out one day. Look for drop offs, weed edges, under water poi...

This discussion has seriously digressed. What happen to everyone is entitled to their own opinion and such. Specific attacks at users is uncalled for and should be avoided. I would like to think the moderators do not need to drop this discussion from the board but if this continues, I don't think yo...

Common on guys...This is getting ridiculous. Fish are in or out of season based on SPECIES not SIZE. A slot fish from an in season species must be released cause it is a slot fish. A slot fish from an out of season species must be released cause it is out of season. Now, a slot fish (much like a out...

No pictures no matter what the size or species of the fish caught out of season....Out of seasan means this fish should not be caught. If they are caught accidently, they should be returned to the water as quick as possible with very limited handled. There is the chance, that with a picture of an ou...

On Sunday was out on Mississippi jigging for Walleye. We caught over 15 hammer handles (I mean Pike). On top of that we had 7 bits off. Get this, 4 bits off were on 6 lb berkely vanish and 3 were on 20 lb Power Pro braided line . This goes to show, unless you are using a wire leader, Pike will and c...

Texas or wacky...You don't need to add weight to these. The plastic is heavy enough that you can still cast it. The lack of weight also gives a nice finesse action to the bait. Bewrkley's sinking minnow is their version of the Senko. Have a read of the article. http://www.bassresource.com/lures/senk...

When it comes to baitcasters and spinning reels it is all about personal preference. My tourney partner only uses baitcasters for flipping, everything else is spinning. I use them for everything except ligth line applications. Baitcasters do have a learning curve but if you buy a cheap baitcaster th...
