For the money Bob Izumi rods are great. I have 3 of them.
I find the rods very light but still strong. Typically with cheaper rods, they are heavy (in weight). When fishing for 8 or 9 hours, this makes a big difference.
Cheers,
Mike

Thanks for the update topraider... This did sound fishy to me and than I got thinking. Just cause it was Quebec COs that caught them fishing without a license on the Ontario side doesn't mean they shouldn't have been charged. The fact is they didn't have ANY license (Ontario or Quebec). Given you ca...

MT, I made the choice or mistake of putting on passenger rated tires on my trailer. They are still on there and are holding up but I don't like them. The trailer has too much sway and bounce to it. The only reason I can get away with it is because my tow vechile out weights my trailer by a lot. Sinc...

Thanks for the replies guys. Guess the idea is to play it safe. Since it is not my boat we are fishing out of but I am the naviagtor I will just have to ensure we try and stick to the main channel where possible and keep those eyes open. The thing I wonder is are these shoals good fishing spots? Eas...

St.Lawrence Water Navigation
Hi All, While out prefish this past weekend for a bass tourney on the St.Lawrence I notice it was some what tough to fly down the river because of all the shoals and such. Now, while the channel is well marked for those big ocean lliners, the shoal are not marked outside of the channel. Anyone have ...

Unforunately there is no course or requirement for boat owner's to take a course on how to launch or trailer a boat or even the manners associated with them. Best thing you can do is set an example. You'd be surprised how many people notice when you can trailer in a quick efficent manner. Some quick...
