There were 2 tournaments there saturday and the rest of the boats were most likely duck hunters. The lake is still in full algae bloom there were still some big bass brought in including a 6.82 and 5.77 largie

All of the reels mentioned are great reels. If you are not fishing tournaments and are just learning you don't need to go that expensive. The quantum code is a great reel. on sunny days a black ping pong ball in the hole works.(as ong as it isn't too cold or windy). But the absoltue best is catching fish.lol. Hole can't freeze if you are constantly catching fish!

The only shoal I know of is at the narrows at bon echo. I have fished tourneys there before and have never found a shoal or seen 1 on a map. But if there is one not on a map and you find it the info would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on a great trip john! the slot size they are proposing is nothing over 15 inches until jun15, after that it is all good. Mind on sharing where you got largemouth? The only spots I have ever gotten them there were in turtle lake or right at the entrance.
