Fish scattered, warm water, warm air temps, and walleye fishing slow... sounds exactly how it's been so far this season in the north. At least after the opener the locals tell me. Had to slow the presentations right down eh hoeboe? Live minnows? Stingers? Great report. Little guy sure looks happy. ...

Back from Mattagami *PICS*

Well it was the first annual 3 generation father-son fishing trip. We went to a place called Green Wilderness Lodge which is 20 miles north of Gogama for 2-1/2 days of fishing and getting back to basics. The weather when we got there was 30 degrees and humid as all heck. From what owner said it had ...

not the mayfly itself but the larvae. once the larvae have gone onshore the eyes will focus on something else. (baitfish). i was hoping tha there had been a major hatching to shorten up the available food sources for them.

a good night in Dunnville.

well my uncle and i decided to let all the opening day Bow-ers have their fun on the crowded river banks and made the trek to Dunnville for the "elusive" channel cats. the night started off quick with myself catching a 3ish pound sucker. we cut him up for bait which never paid off. the nex...

question for those with kids?

when i bought my son his first rod last year (he was 5), i bought him a "real" fishing rod. a 4 foot Ugly Stik and a small Shimano reel. he was buggin' me when we got it to get him the Scooby Doo rod and reel combo and still kinda bugs me when we go to crappy tire today. i figured that sin...

(HoeBoe) Not to start anything here, but why do you have some of those weighted trebles in your tackle box :o ... Just curious... i had been down in Cape Cod a few years back and picked them up at a local tackle shop because we were going to do some shark fishing in deep water. they are still in my...
