Welcome Big C. :) The Bay of Quinte off Lake Ontario is famous for its Walleye fishing but is overlooked for its excellent pike fishing. If you haven't been there, it stretches for approximately 30 miles from Deseronto to Trenton south of and running parallel to the 401 Highway.

I have not fished either of these parks but just read a very good article in the March edition of the Ontario Out Of Doors magazine. The article describes fishing the upper Ottawa River and on page 50 specifically mentions the Driftwood Prov. Park area. I posted a message about the area in this foru...

:D :D :D I appreciate all of the suggestions. sounds like lots of water, keep it real cold and preferably aerated and keep it in the dark. Teppy mentioned adding some breadcrumb for food. Anybody else feeding the minnows?

The Bay of Quinte at Deseronto would be within your 3 hour limit. There are not any Provincial Parks there but are a number of private campgrounds in the Napanee & Deseronto area including Pickerel Park on the South Shore of Hay Bay which is a good campgrounds and a park on Hwy 2 on the West sid...

I don't have an answer to your question but will be interested to see if someone else has a method that works. Same as you, I have used the dipsy diver and lead core and am going to the downrigger approach this Spring. Good suggestions guys! It sounds like I have not been keeping them in enough water. I have been afraid to move them into a bigger bucket with more water in case the shock of the temperature change or different water type would kill them.

Question: How To Keep Minnows Alive

:?: Anyone have a suggestion on how to keep my minnows alive after a day of fishing? Aside from the problem of having to drive so far to get minows (Kemptville to Manotick) they are expensive enough that it would be nice to keep them for my next fishing trip. I have an oxygen pump but the minows are...

The Lazer ice auger sharpener sounds like a good idea for the price. Where did you buy it? Because I am a pack rat I have always kept my old blades so this would come in handy.

Nice fish Bradford. I Have been out of touch for the past couple of weeks so am catching up. Have you been doing any fishing on the Rideau since you caught this one? I am interested if anyone is catching any pike or walleye.
