Anyone out there fish the St. Lawrence for musky around Prescott, Brockville or Gananoque. Looking for a rough idea where to head, I may need a fishing partner as well! Any info is appreciated.

The Rideau is almost ice free again. I bet it will be cleared of ice this aft. Who's in for another musky fish>?

I am hoping to go out this Friday for Musky at Arnprior. I usually fish up in the castleford area. Anyone with advice on this area its is appreciated.

I figure catching musky is like a marathon, you have to pace yourself and be able to put in a lot of hours. I use Abu 6500 on good MH casting rods when i am casting. I was wondering if anyone out there has been fishing the St. Lawrence this year for musky. With the die off that has occurred this summer how has it affected peoples catch' (& release!).

leakyboot has got that right. there are a lot of rock shoals i can go over with my little boat, (15ft with a 20hp) that we found out the hard way last fall a larger boat can run into. I fish the area of the ottawa from the bonahcere up west to the channels alot. I have never had much luck before the weeds have developed in mid July. Just a note, a friend of mine was fishin in the Gananoque area on the opening pike and walleye weekend and he said there was a big die off of walleye and sheeps head. They where floating all around the area they where fising. The MNR where around and did not know why this was happening.

There is another launch that is well kept just off 44 about 1 mile south of Dillworth as well. If heading North on 44 you come to a long bend at the end of the bend there is a right hand turn lane, take it turn right and then right again and your there. Have you got room for another boat and couple musky fanatics.? I fish the Rideau a lot for musky had a pretty decent season to date. I eat anything but fish.

Addiction it is, would have been cheaper to continue smoking. I am headin to buckhorn with the Wife & Kids for a family vacation. Started packing last night. I am only bringing 3 musky rods with me and spent an hour trying to consolidate 2 of my box's into one.

Another thing you can do if the fish is not wanting to stay upright is rub the fish from the belly up to the mouth to "burp" the fish. Good tips.
